November 27, 2011

Today, I'm thankful for what I call, "The Beautiful Let Down". There are things in this life that I desire more than anything, but God has plans that are bigger and better than anything I can even fathom. Learning how to be still in situations is a work in progress. Learning how to be patient when knowing He gives me the desires of my heart, and hasn't forgotten about me, is a daily struggle. I know and believe that in His time, things that I hold near and dear to my heart, all will be revealed. Until then, I will wait. I will wait on His perfect timing. Not on my own.

~A Month Of Gratitude~

As November comes to a close, I am more inspired than ever before.  My fellow Facebook posters took the meaning of the season and posted something they're greatful for each day.  It drowned out the negative nellies, which I couldn't be more thankful for, but it also reminded me just how much I have been blessed with every single day.  There were posts about things that I don't always think to be thankful for everyday and made it look as though it was the BEST thing, EVER!  Well, it really IS the best thing because I am reminded of the little things in life along with the big things to be thankful for.  I truly am blessed to have such great friends.  To everyone who took part of this Month of Gratitude, you all helped put me in the reason for the season but more so, I am inspired to count my blessings more.

November 24, 2011

This Thanksgiving holiday, 9 years ago, was a day that changed my life forever. It was then that I made a call with a 50/50 chance someone would answer, which they did. It was a phone call that brought 2 families together, myself and my sister to our father and his growing family. This particular day of thankfulness was saved for my father, whom I'm so blessed to know. Our lives are richly blessed and I truly wouldn't change a thing. I love you. — with Lonnie Clark.

I'm thankful that God has guided me towards the best career field ever... Medicine. It is where I continue to strive to be the best at what I do, so that I can bring some peace to my patients and families during their time of need. I truly am blessed and hope I never take it for granted.

I'm thankful for all things monetary; a roof over my head, a car to drive, a job to go to, bills to pay (which means I have more than I need), food to eat (that I shouldn't but I can), phones to play Angry Birds and iPods to listen to my purchased music. =) Sorry, I had to. So blessed.

November 12, 2011

I'm thankful for our public safety workers, the "boys (and girls) in blue." I thank God for the sometimes unbelievable amount of courage these men and women have to do what they do, day in and day out, by constantly placing their lives on the line for complete strangers in need. I also want to thank those who have died in the line of duty, but most of all for the families who are left behind. May God bless them each day of their lives for the sacrifices they've made."

November 11: I'm thankful for those who stand tall for this Great Country in which I freely live. We have, because of those before us. We are, because of those beside us. We will be, because of those who will stand for us. There is so much to be thankful for and it starts with our Veterans and the sacrifices they gave, give and will give. God Bless them and the families who stood/stand bravely behind them.

Today, I'm thankful for the Marines. My father was a marine (Mom went in labor with me the night of the Marine Ball), Dad # 2 started off as a Marine (retired Army) and Dad # 3 was also a Marine (I think my mom had something for a Marine. =) I, on the other hand, have something for a Sailor Man! ) I also have lots of family members who were/are Marines and friends as well so there's a special place for them in my heart. Happy Birthday, Marines! Semper Fi!

I'm thankful for the little people I'm blessed to be around. My nieces and nephews are such a light in my life and I learn from them constantly. Their sweet and innocent demeanor, sometimes overshadowed by their occasional imperfections, is humbling to say the least. If we could take a moment to be more like them, I believe we would be more loving and forgiving to others.

I'm thankful for my 3rd dad, who has been around since my late teens, and helped me through the many stages of my awkward 20's. He introduced me to live sports games and renewed my love for baseball. He has been a huge support to me and has loved me as his own.

November 6, 2011

I am thankful for all 5 of my siblings. Each one of them have blessed me in so many ways, regardless of the fact that I just met 3 of them 9 years ago. Life just isn't the same without them around. =( Too bad I couldn't just pull the midwest into the southwest and call it good. I love you William, Sandra, Sarah, Brian and Staci!!

I'm thankful for dear, sweet friends for the love and laughter they add to our lives and the unconditional support they provide us day after day. Today may be difficult as we say good-bye their loved one, but I know it will be a joyous time, indeed. Memories will be made today.

November 4, 2011

I'm thankful for my dad, who raised me from the age of 5. Although I wasn't the easiest child to deal with, I believe he did the best he knew how, and because of that, I'm glad he didn't take me to the top of a volcano and leave me there.

November 3, 2011

I am overwhelmed by the love of my husband, who has become my best friend, my protector, my confidant and encourager. He is an amazing provider and always puts me first. He helps me during my quest for a career and picks up the loose ends without complaint. Oh! Plus he's a fantastic cook! He is everything, and so much more than I had ever dreamed or hoped for. Thank you, Jesus for this wonderful blessing... You know me so much more than I know myself.
